Little Mix

This is the Little Mix Video. There are many shots within it that we like, for example the sliding transitions when there is split screen. This is a very effective shot as it just mixes the girls around a bit and has the editing being quite quick already. Another shot I like is the quick editing of the girls with the different backgrounds. It gives the girls their own identity, for example one girl has graffiti  which suggests an urban look and feel to her whereas another girl has flowers suggesting sweetness and naivety. Through out the video there are certain movements that all the girls do in sync, almost like a routine which is another key convention of a girl band video. All through the video the editing is fast with a variety of effects and transitions. This makes the video seem fun and interesting. It also shows the girls doing certain dance movements to make them appeal to the male and female target audience. There are many shots where the girls are in one place in one outfit and in the next shot they're in a different place wearing different clothes. This is another convention of a girl band. It shows that they are social or normal and the clothes set fashion. Particularly in this video as they are younger girls, the dance routines don't seem to be as strictly choreographed. This makes the video seem more fun and the girls more loose and wild..The video's lyrics and the lack of boys in the video hits on a 'girl power' feeling and shows them all together. The clothes that they're wearing don't seem to be overly sexualised, more fun and girly but with the crop tops it does suggest a slight sexual side. The girls clothes and backgrounds give them a different 'character' almost and so they appeal to a wider audience of people together.

The split screen shot ideas comes from the Little Mix video 'Wings'. We like this shot because it shows all the members together as one band yet at the same time splits them to suggest that they are individuals with their own identities. The backgrounds behind them suggests the same thing. It also gives a nice face shot of the members and so we see them fairly close up.
